Mr. Johnston is an instrument rated private pilot. Flying is one of his passions. If he is not at his easel, he is likely in the air behind the yoke of a Cessna Skyhawk.
Mr. Johnston began sketching and painting in the 1970's. Initially all of his works were gifts to friends and family. Recently, he has been exploring both expressionism and more traditional styles as applied to a variety of animals.
